CARPET PAINTING - Day 2
The carpet is a salmony, cherry-blossom-after-its-been-on-ground-for-two-days colour.
It is deep-pile.
Its is cut into a 24 inch square.
Its edges are roughly cut and there are small ridges down one edge.
The colour of the paint is a darker version of the carpet.
Tempera paint.
Painting was initially difficult due to the depth of the pile and the first painted area took 11 minutes to complete. Brush strokes were layed-off in a North-East direction so as not to leave 'dark patching' as described on the safety sticker.
The second layer went on much better.
The third layer was a layer of Polyvinyl Chloride so it had a high gloss sheen. The effect was as if I had originally used an enamel paint.
The fourth layer was a flourescent yellow colour also using tempera, painted on the PVC layer.
Added a further area of PVC which was applied with a card beermat.
Added an area of latex applied with a beermat.
A painted area was layered on top of the latex area.
